Curcumin Helps Offset Stress, Boosting Adrenals and Memory
Too much stress sets in motion a chain reaction of wear and tear, typically building upon itself and causing multiple health problems. Being able to tolerate stress and have your body return to a baseline of calm following stress is an ability. An interesting animal study shows that curcumin can help you out.

Curcumin has gained widespread attention this year for its ability to stabilize your genome, helping genes work better and preventing adverse epigenetic changes, including changes that lead to cancer. High stress levels are one factor that induce adverse epigenetic changes or enable gene weak spots to manifest as health problems.

In the current experiment animals were exposed to various forms of significant stress. As expected, the stress caused excessive adrenal activity leading to adrenal burnout, increased free radical damage, and memory problems. Treatment with curcumin reduced the adverse effects of stress, helping the adrenal glands cope better, reducing the memory problems, and lowering the free radical damage.

This study shows that curcumin possesses adaptogenic properties that may be able to help you better tolerate the demands and pressures in your life.
